BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT #62
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2022 @ 6:30 P.M.

Open the Meeting
Call the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Scribner-Snyder President, Laura Schnoor presiding.
Open Meetings Act
Notice of this meeting was properly published in a newspaper of general circulation by advance Public Notice with notice and advance agenda given to all members of the board prior to the meeting date. Scribner-Snyder personnel Joe Peitzmeier, Sharon Meyer, Brad Stithem and Malia Nemecek were in attendance.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Roll Call
A call of roll showed 5 members present: Don Beck, Mike Fischer, Matt Kruse, Laura Schnoor, and Cory Schlueter. Absent – Andrea Vacha
Welcoming of Visitors

Student Presentation
Michelle Ryun, FFA Sponsor, reported to the board on a grant for a greenhouse.
Executive Session
Fischer moved to enter executive session at 6:46 p.m. for the purpose of current litigation. Schlueter seconded and motion carried 5-yes, 1-absent (Andrea Vacha)
Schnoor moved to resume Regular Session at 7:16 p.m. Beck seconded and the motion carried 5-yes, 1-absent (Andrea Vacha)
Informational Reports
Board Members –President Schnoor reminded the board of the NASB State Conference is next week. Laura also congratulated Janice Baker, Mike Fischer and Aaron Lange on the election for school board.
Supt. Peitzmeier presented the Principal and AD/Data reports.
Principal Stithem reported on the following items:
- SSCS Junior Class attended the Dodge County Government Day on November 8th.
- Veteran’s Day Program will be held on November 11th. Cookies and Coffee being served at 9:00 program at 10:00 and Lunch served after the program. Thank you to Mrs. Wuestewald, Mrs. Schafer, Mr. Poessnecker and all staff and students who helped make the program wonderful.
- EHC One Act will be held at Oakland-Craig Public School on November 15th.
- Early dismissal on November 22. Thanksgiving break is November 23 – 27.
Malia Nemecek – AD/Data Student Services
- Fun Fest is November 12th.
- Thank you to the booster club for sponsoring a ceramic night.
- Jr. High Boys Basketball practice has started.
- Congratulations to Garrett Hunke for qualifying for All State Music.
- Congratulations to Garrett Hunke and Rylee Nemecek for being chosen for the select group at EHC Choir.
- FFA Greenhand Night took place on November 9.
- Teacher data meetings are going well.
Superintendent Peitzmeier reported on the following items:
- Finance:
-Audit Letter from Auditor
-Audit Letter from Attorney
-Human Trafficking Grant
- Curriculum:
-Staffing update
- Facilities:
-Shout out to Deb and Sharon for decorating the planter boxes.
- Workshops/Meetings:
- Laura and Joe are registered for NASB State Conference
-Staff Development October 13th & 14th
- Miscellaneous:
-Negotiations meeting
-CTE Civil Rights Review
- Updated the Board on Superintendent attendance/absences
Cory Schlueter asked for an update on the busing transportation.
Action Items
Approval of the Consent Agenda
Schlueter moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented with excusing Andrea Vacha from the meeting. This includes the approval of the agenda, the October 12, 2022 Minutes, October 18, 2022 Special Meeting Minutes, Treasurers Report (attachment 1), Financial Reports (attachment 2), the actual General Fund expenses (attachment 3), Special Building Fund expenses (attachment 4) and placed them on file. Fischer seconded and motion carried 5-yes, 1-absent (Andrea Vacha).
Policy Review
Kruse moved to approve board policies: Section 200 “School Board” as reviewed. Schlueter seconded and motion carried 5-yes, 1-absent (Andrea Vacha).
Staff Resignation
Schlueter moved to accept the resignation, with regret, of Casey Keene. (attachment 5) Fischer wished Casey well. Beck seconded and motion carried 5-yes, 1-absent (Andrea Vacha)
Discussion items
- Return to Learn Plan
- Facility Study/Strategic Plan – some discussion regarding the facility study. There will be a report at the December meeting.
- Superintendent Evaluation
Executive Session
Schlueter moved to enter executive session at 7:46 p.m. for the purpose of collective bargaining, and for the protection of the public interest. Beck seconded and motion carried 5-yes, 1-absent (Andrea Vacha).
Adjournment
Kruse moved to resume regular session at 8:16 p.m. Schlueter seconded and motion carried 5-yes, 1-absent (Andrea Vacha)
There being no further business on the agenda of this meeting, President Laura Schnoor adjourned the meeting at 8:17 p.m.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education of District #62, Dodge County, will be Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 6:30 p.m., in the Scribner–Snyder Band Room. Agenda items are kept current in the superintendent’s office and may be inspected during regular business hours.
