OPEN THE MEETING
Call the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Scribner-Snyder President, Laura Schnoor presiding.
Open Meetings Act
Notice of this meeting was properly published in a newspaper of general circulation by advance Public Notice with notice and advance agenda given to all members of the board prior to the meeting date. Scribner-Snyder personnel Joe Peitzmeier, Sharon Meyer and Malia Nemecek were in attendance.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

A call of roll showed 4 members present: Don Beck, Aaron Lange, Matt Kruse and Laura Schnoor.

Facility Study
Ryan Durant and team were in attendance to discuss the next steps in the future of the old building and band room.
INFORMATIONAL REPORTS
Principal Nemecek reported on the following items:
- Updating handbooks
- Summer school
- Open House – August 15th
- Band will march at the State Fair on August 30th
- Scribner Daze
- Ordered watermelons for Dodge County Fair
- Outdoor Movie Night/Fundraiser – September 9th
- Mr. Rischling (LV AD) visited the school
Superintendent Peitzmeier reported on the following items:

-Offer on Dodge car
-Suggestions for new car

Approval of the Consent Agenda
Kruse moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented, and excuse the absence of Baker and Fischer. This includes the approval of the agenda, the June 14, 2023 Regular Minutes, Treasurers Report (attachment 1), Financial Reports (attachment 2), General Fund expenses (attachment 3), Special Building Fund expenses (attachment 4) and placed them on file. Lange seconded and motion carried 4-yes, 2-absent (Baker and Fischer)

Beck seconded and motion carried 4-yes, 2-absent.
Discuss, Consider, and Take Necessary Action to Approve Board Policies
Lange moved to approve board policies 203.01 “Annual Organizational Meeting” (revised); 408.02 “Resignation of Certificated Employees”; 502.02 “Option Enrollment” (revised); 502.04 “Part-time Enrollment” (revised); 504.03 “Student Discipline” (revised); 504.11 “Weapons” (revised); 504.13 “Artificial Intelligence (new); 504.25 “Collection of Information Relating to Dyslexia” (new); 504.60 “Initiations, Hazing, Secret Clubs, and Outside Organizations” (revised); 505.04 “Alternative Education Programs or Plans for Expelled Students” (revised); 506.01 “Extracurricular Activity” (revised); 506.02 “Student Organizations” (revised); 508.18 “Nalozone in School” (new); 508.19 “Behavioral Points of Contact” (new); 604.01.1 “Assessments” (revised); 605.07 “Part-Time Enrollment” (revised); 611.07 “Graduation Requirements (new); 612.18 “Special Education” (new); 1101.0 “Use of School Facilities: Student Groups” (new). Kruse seconded and after discussion motion carried 4-yes, 2-absent.
POLICY REVIEW
Lange moved to approve board policies sections: 600, 607.01 – 612.18 “Instruction” as reviewed. Beck seconded and after discussion motion carried 4-yes, 2-absent.
Consider and Act on Reauthorization of ESSERS III Safe Return Plan
Kruse moved to reauthorize the ESSERS III Safe Return Plan as revised by transferring funds from “Other Purchased Services” to “Supplies” for technology upgrades as revised. Beck seconded and after discussion motion carried 4-yes, 2-absent.
Discuss, Consider and Take Necessary Action to Set Food Service Prices for the 2023-2024 School Year
Lange moved that the school food service prices for the 2023-2024 school year be set as presented. Kruse seconded and motion carried 4-yes, 2-absent.
Discuss, Consider and Take Necessary Action in Regard to Renewing Membership in the Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association (NRCSA) for the 2023-2024 School Year
Beck moved to renew membership in the Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association (NRCSA) for the 2023-2024 school year. Schnoor seconded and motion carried 4-yes, 2-absent.

There being no further business on the agenda of this meeting, President Laura Schnoor adjourned the meeting at 8:33 p.m.
