BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT #62
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2025 @ 6:30 P.M.

OPEN THE MEETING
Call the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Scribner-Snyder President Fischer presiding.
OPEN MEETINGS ACT
Notice of this meeting was properly published in a newspaper of general circulation by advance Public Notice with notice and advance agenda given to all members of the board prior to the meeting date. Scribner-Snyder personnel Joe Peitzmeier, Malia Nemecek and Sharon Meyer were in attendance.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
ROLL CALL
A call of roll showed all members present: Janis Baker, Dyann Bradbury, Jake Brainard, Mike Fischer, Aaron Lange and Lisa Lawton.

- Several students qualified to compete at the JAG Nebraska Career Development Conference on February 20th.
- Attended Dodge Co. Truancy Task Force meeting
- Working on 2025-26 High School Master Schedule
- February 19 – Parent/Teacher Conference
- February 14 – Donuts with Grownups
- February 17 – Roast Beef Dinner at Z’s Bar and Grill
- Thank you to 664 for hosting the spaghetti dinner
- Congratulations to the girls wrestling team and the state qualifiers.

- Quiz Bowl team qualified for 3rd Round quarterfinal match of the KTCH Radio Challenge

ACTION ITEMS
APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA
Bradbury moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. This includes the approval of the agenda, January 15, 2025 Regular Meeting Minutes, Treasurers Report (attachment 1), Financial Report (attachment 2), General Fund expenses (attachment 3), and placed them on file. Baker seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
DISCUSS, CONSIDER, AND TAKE ALL NECESSARY ACTION TO APPROVE THE SCHOOL CALENDAR FOR 2025-2026
Baker moved to approve the school calendar for the 2025-2026 school year as presented. (attachment 4). Lange seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
CONSIDER AND ACT ON HIRING OF STAFF
Baker moved to approve that Kersten Schissel be hired as an Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 School Year. Bradbury seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
DISCUSS, CONSIDER, AND TAKE NECESSARY ACTION REGARDING APPROVING AMENDMENT NUMBER 01 AIA DOCUMENT G802
Brainard moved to approve amendment Number 01 AIA Document G802 as presented. Bradbury seconded and after discussion motion carried 6-yes.
DISCUSS, CONSIDEER, AND TAKE NECESSARY ACTION REGARDING APPROVING AMENDMENT NUMBER 02 AIA DOCUMENT G802
Item died for lack of motion.

EXECUTIVE SESSION
MOTION TO ENTER EXECUTIVE SESSION
Bradbury moved to enter executive session at 7:58 pm for the purpose of discussing personnel when necessary to prevent needless injury to the reputation of a person such person has not requested a public meeting; and for the protection of the public interest. Baker seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
MOTION TO RETURN TO REGULAR SESSION
Brainard moved to resume Regular Session at 8:26 pm. Lawton seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
REGULAR SESSION
DISCUSS, CONSIDER, AND TAKE ALL NECESSARY ACTION TO APPROVE 2025-2026 CLASSIFIED SALARY AND BENEFITS
Brainard moved that the classified staff receive a salary and benefits package not to exceed 5.0% for the 2025-2026 school year. Bradbury seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
CONSIDER AND TAKE NECESSARY ACTION WITH REGARD TO ADMINISTRATIVE CONTRACT RENEWAL
Baker moved to approve an offer to Principal Nemecek’s contract for the 2025-2026 school year with the proposed compensation package. Bradbury seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
CONSIDER AND TAKE NECESSARY ACTION WITH REGARD TO SPED COORDINATOR CONTRACT RENEWAL
Brainard moved to approve an offer SPED Coordinator Tedrow’s contract for the 2025-2026 school year with the proposed compensation package. Lawton seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business on the agenda of this meeting, President Mike Fischer adjourned this meeting at 8:29 p.m.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education of District #62, Dodge County, will be Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 6:30 p.m., in the Scribner-Snyder Band Room. Agenda items are kept continually current in the superintendent’s office and may be inspected during regular business hours.
