OPEN THE MEETING
Call the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. Scribner-Snyder President Schnoor presiding.
OPEN MEETINGS ACT
Notice of this meeting was properly published in a newspaper of general circulation by advance Public Notice with notice and advance agenda given to all members of the board prior to the meeting date. Scribner-Snyder personnel Joe Peitzmeier, Malia Nemecek and Sharon Meyer were in attendance.

A call of roll showed all members present: Janis Baker, Don Beck, Dyann Bradbury, Mike Fischer, Aaron Lange and Laura Schnoor.

ACTION ITEMS
APROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA
Bradbury moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. This includes the approval of the agenda, August 14, 2024 Regular Meeting Minutes, August 28, 2024 Special Board Meeting Minutes, Treasurers Report (attachment 1), Financial Report (attachment 2), General Fund expenses (attachment 3) Special Building expenses (attachment 4) and placed them on file. Baker seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
BUDGET RESOLUTIONS
- GENERAL FUND BUDGET
Fischer moved that the General Fund Budget for 2024-2025 be set at $7,323,258 with a property Tax Requirement of $3,366,335. Lange seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
- BUILDING FUND BUDGET
Lange moved that the Building Fund Budget for 2024-2025 be set at $1,900,000 with a property Tax Requirement of $606,061. Beck seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE PROPERTY TAX REQUEST
Fischer moved to approve the following Property Tax Request as written in the agenda. Baker seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
RESOLUTION SETTING THE PROPERTY TAX REQUEST
RESOLUTION NO. School Year 2024-2025
WHEREAS, Nebraska Revised Statute 77-1632 and 77-1633 provides that the Governing Body of Scribner-Snyder CSD passes by a majority vote a resolution or ordinance setting the tax request; and
WHEREAS, a special public hearing was held as required by law to hear and consider comments concerning the property tax request;
Now, THEREFORE, the Governing Body of Scribner-Snyder CSD resolves that:
- The 2024-2025 Property tax request be set at:
General Fund: $ 3,366,335.00
Special Building Fund: $ 606,061.00
- The total assessed value of property differs from last year’s total assessed value by 12.18 percent.
- The tax rate which would levy the same amount of property taxes as last year, when multiplied by the new total assessed value would be .0631139 per $100 of assessed value.
- Scribner-Snyder CSD proposes to adopt a property tax request that will cause its tax rate to be 0.638126 per $100 of assessed value.
- Based on the proposed property tax request and changes in other revenue, the total operating budget of Scribner-Snyder CSD will increase last year’s budget by 12.39 percent.
- A copy of this resolution be certified and forwarded to the County Clerk on or before October 15, 2024

STAFF RESIGNATION
Bradbury moved to accept the resignation of Superintendent, Joe Peitzmeier effective at the end of the contract year. Baker seconded and after some discussion motion carried 5 yes, 1 no (Schnoor). (attachment 5)
DISCUSS, CONSIDER AND TAKE NECESSARY ACTION REGARDING ENLISTING A SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH SERVICE
Fischer moved to approve entering into an agreement with NASB Superintendent Search Service as proposed. Lange seconded and after discussion motion carried 6-yes.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education of District #62, Dodge County, will be Wednesday, October 9th at 6:30 p.m., in the Scribner-Snyder Band Room. Agenda items are kept continually current in the superintendent’s office and may be inspected during regular business hours.
