                                                                REGULAR MEETING

BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT #62

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2026 @ 6:30 P.M.

SCRIBNER – SNYDER BAND BUILDING

 

 

OPEN THE MEETING

Call the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Scribner-Snyder President, Dyann Bradbury presiding.

 

OPEN MEETINGS ACT

Notice of this meeting was properly published in a newspaper of general circulation by advance Public Notice with notice and advance agenda given to all members of the board prior to the meeting date.  Scribner-Snyder personnel Rex Pfeil, Malia Nemecek and Sharon Meyer were in attendance.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

 

ROLL CALL

A call of roll showed 5 members present:  Janis Baker, Jake Brainard, Dyann Bradbury, Mike Fischer and Lisa Lawton. 

 

WELCOMING OF VISITORS

7 visitors, No comments

 

APPROVAL OF TREASURER

Brainard moved to approve Tim Woken as the SSCS Treasurer for 2026.  Baker seconded and after discussion motion carried 5-yes.

INFORMATIONAL REPORTS

Robotics Demonstration

 

Board Members:

  • February 12 @ 1:00 pm -Buildings and Grounds Committee meeting

 

Principal Report:

  • 2026-27 Master Schedule for 6-12 grade
  • Dean Jacobs worked with the middle school students and the Upstanders
  • Social Studies Curriculum has been selected
  • February 13 – Donuts with Grown-ups
  • February 16 – PTA/Z’s Roast Beef Dinner Fundraiser
  • February 24 – Parent/Teacher Conference
  • Congratulations to Honor Band Qualifiers

 

AD Report:

  • Congratulations to Marah Fischer and Kloey Wheelock for their FFA Food Processing Proficiency Applications.  The both qualified for state.
  • February 13/14 – Boys District Wrestling
  • JAG students provided a Teacher Appreciation Lunch
  • February 25 – Conference Speech Meet
  • March 16 – District Speech Meet
  • February 2 – District Star Event – Congratulations to Eva Berkland, Paige Raff and Melody Morris, they qualified for state.

 ACTION ITEMS

 

APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA

Brainard moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented.  This includes the approval of the agenda, January 19, 2026 Regular Meeting Minutes, January 30, 2026 Special Meeting Minutes, Treasurers Report (attachment 1), Financial Report (attachment 2), General Fund expenses (attachment 3) Special Building expenses (attachment 4) and placed them on file.  Lawton seconded and motion carried 5-yes.

 

SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH

Shari Becker, Director of the NASB Education Leadership Search Service, discussed the superintendent search process.

 

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Baker moved to enter executive session at 7:20 pm to prevent the needless injury of an individual’s reputation and for the protection of the public interest for the purpose of the superintendent search.  Brainard seconded and motion carried 5-yes.

 

RETURN TO REGULAR SESSION

Fischer moved to resume Regular Session at 7:43 pm.  Baker seconded and motion carried 5-yes.

 

DISCUSS, CONSIDER AND TAKE ALL NECESSARY ACTION ON THE PROPOSED SCHOOL CALENDAR FOR 2026-2027

Brainard moved to approve the 2026-2027 school calendar as presented (attachment 5).  Lawton seconded and motion carried 5-yes.

 

DISCUSS, CONSIDER AND TAKE ALL NECESSARY ACTION REGARDING REQUEST FROM THE CLASS OF 2027 TO TAKE A SENIOR CLASS TRIP IN 2027

Brainard moved to approve the Senior Class trip in the Spring of 2027 with details to be worked out between the sponsors and administration (attachment 6).  Baker seconded and motion carried 5-yes.

 

DISCUSS, CONSIDER AND TAKE ALL NECESSARY ACTION ON THE RESIGNATION OF CERTIFIED STAFF

Lawton moved to accept the resignation of Rhianna Hagerbaumer, 5th Grade Teacher, at the conclusion of the 2025-2026 school year (attachment 7).  Brainard seconded and motion carried 5-yes.

 

DISCUSS, CONSIDER, AND TAKE ALL NECESSARY ACTION ON SPORTS COOPERATIVE AGREEMENTS WITH LOGAN VIEW PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

Brainard moved to approve the cooperative.  After discussion, Lawton seconded and motion carried 5-yes.

 

DISCUSSION ITEMS

  • Adjusting the last day of school for asbestos removal and construction.
  • 2026-27 NDE State Aid
  • New building interior furnishings and equipment
  • Board member appointment
  • March 18-20 – NRCSA Conference

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business on the agenda of this meeting, President Dyann Bradbury adjourned this meeting at 7:59 p.m.
