                                        BUDGET WORKSHOP

BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT #62

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26, 2026

4:30 P.M.

SCRIBNER – SNYDER BAND BUILDING

 

OPEN THE MEETING

Call the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. Scribner-Snyder President, Dyann Bradbury presiding.

 

OPEN MEETINGS ACT

Notice of this meeting was properly published in a newspaper of general circulation by advance Public Notice with notice and advance agenda given to all members of the board prior to the meeting date.  Scribner-Snyder personnel Malia Nemecek, Megan Stock and Sharon Meyer were in attendance.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

 

ROLL CALL

A call of roll showed all members present:  Janis Baker, Dyann Bradbury, Jake Brainard, Mike Fischer, Lisa Lawton and David Schnoor. 

 

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Lawton moved to approve the Agenda as presented.  Baker seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

 

VISITORS:  None

 

    1. BUDGET DEVELOPMENT
  1. 2026 -2027 Budget Work Session/Planning

 

ACTION ITEMS

  1.  The board will consider, discuss, and take all necessary action to advance the draft 2026-2027 budget to public hearings for adoption on September 16, 2026.

 

Schnoor moved to advance the 2026-2027 budget draft as presented.  After no second, motion failed.

 

  1. The board will consider, discuss, and take all necessary action to authorize the superintendent to notify the county that the Scribner-Snyder Community Schools will participate in the Joint Public Hearing as scheduled by the county.

 

Fischer moved to notify the county that Scribner-Snyder School Board will participate in the Joint Public Hearing as scheduled by the county.  Baker seconded, and motion carried 5-yes, 1-no (Schnoor).

 

 

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business on the agenda of this special meeting, President Dyann Bradbury adjourned this meeting at 5:37 p.m.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education of District #62, Dodge County, will be Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m., in the Scribner–Snyder Band Room.  Agenda items are kept current in the superintendent’s office and may be inspected during regular business hours.
